TOP TIPS

The most important thing when organizing a event is TIME.  Plan as far ahead as you can . The more time you have to plan the better the event.

People... Ask for help, don't try to do it all on your own, the more people who help the less stress on yourself.

Check out what events are in your area, when and where they are happening (no point having two fairs on the same day).  Plan your event to fit around the seasons (Easter Fair, Autumn Bingo)

Snoop!! Visit other galas and fundraising events, find out what they are charging, what stalls most people are stood at and it's a great way to see new ideas for stalls and games.

Get as much as you can for FREE, Don't be shy ask everyone and anyone if they could please donate a item towards your fundraising event.  The more you get free the more profit for your Good Cause.

Don't overspend, set your budget and stick to it.  It is so easy to overspend and eat into your profit.  Give each stall a set amount and stick to it.

Always have a headed letter/signed from the person in charge of the organization  you are raising funds for.  When buying items for the event ask the manager in the shop if you can have a discount (most will ask to see a headed letter confirming ).  You may not always get but every little bit of discount helps.

Advertise  Posters  in shops, letters, local paper, schools, church newsletters......... Get them out in plenty of time, don't let all that hard work go to waste by not advertising the event.

When it is all over with and you have counted and banked your profit, sit down and write Thank You Letters to the companies and people who donated .

Plan your next event.  Think in advance. When you have finished your event be it at Easter/Christmas/Valentines/Mothers/Fathers day or any other time of the year then look out for things in the sales for the following years events.  Buying well in advance saves you a lot of money.

Keep checking back.  Add your friends and feel free to leave comments or ask me for any advice on fundraising. If I can help you with advice I will . I have loads more ideas to post and will continue to do so .
