The Beauty and Mind Night was a great success and we raised £500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. We had a constant flow of people through the doors and there was a real buzz.  The feedback we got from everyone was how much they had enjoyed the night and would we do another one.
We learnt a few lessons for our next Beauty and Mind Night:
We will only be able to provide one table each stall holder next time and if stall holders need anymore they will need to bring there own.
To have the therapy area a bit more private as some people would have liked some treatments but did not like to have a audience.
To allocate each stall holder a area before they arrive as everyone arrived at the same time. and there was some confusion
To have some catering at the event ,we thought of doing some fast food next time.

It truly was a good night and we are all ready organising our next one in a couple of months time in a town close by.........Try it in your area it is sure to bring you some funds for your cause and give people a enjoyable night !!

Stand up Bingo

This can be played as a Individual Fundraiser or as a Stall

What you will need:
Bingo Board and Number Balls
Bingo Tickets
Prizes or Money
There is available online Bingo Tickets made out of Cardboard that would be more suitable for this  game .

The idea of the game is to shout out the numbers as in a usual game of bingo.
If the player has that number then they sit down
The last person standing is the winner ,

If doing this as a Stall you could run a game every 10 minutes or so. Players pay for a  ticket  and win 50% of the money taken for that game.
So if you have 20 players paying 50p a ticket then you would give the Winner £5 and you would keep £5

It may be a good idea to have different colored books of tickets so that you can rotate them for games and don't have people using the same tickets or ask for tickets to be returned after each game.

A lot of people love playing Bingo and it is a fun game for all ages .This game can soon make you a tidy profit as you have no lay out for prizes.

NUMBER CLUB

The Number Club is a good way of raising a regular amount for your Group. The Number Club can be run on a Weekly or Monthly basis.

All members of your group/School/Charity pay £1 Weekly/Monthly.
They are given a number that is there number in the draw.
Every Week/Month a draw takes place and a number is drawn out and the winner receives 50% of the funds from the draw.

If you have 100 members paying £1 and are doing a monthly draw then every month you are making £50 .

It does not have to have 100 members it can work with any size group and if your group does not meet up every week then you can collect the amount Monthly/Yearly.

Check on  your local Council Website on organizing small Lotteries to see if you need to register with them.






  

Beauty and Mind Night

It is so hard when everyone around you is organising Fundraising events and we are all trying to make some funds for our cause.  I am constantly looking out for ideas and trying to think of something different to do that will bring in people.  My sisters and me are currently involved at the moment in organising a Mind and Beauty night in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, it is a new one to us and a lot of people have shown interest in the event.

The first step for us was to find a Hall that would be big enough and not too costly as this can easily eat away at your funds, we asked around at various venues and was given full use of a hall that was used by a local Martial Arts Group,the use of the hall was donated at no cost to us. 

We had found our venue and decided on a date the next step was to contact people that we knew could offer the services we needed. I started a events page on Face book and added my Sisters and a few friends as admin, his way we could all add our friends to the event. On the page we gave information about the event and  what people we would be looking for to hold a stall,we also asked for donations for our raffle prizes. It was not long before we was being contacted by many people in our area who wanted to do a stall and also attend the night.

Once we had established that people were interested then it was time to get tickets printed up,these were ordered on line through Vista Print at a reasonable price of 250 for about £12.we was able to put our own wording and info on to them and see them online before we ordered...........really pleased with the results.
The tickets arrived and we asked some shop owners  in the area if they would sell them for us to the public, we targeted the shops like Nail bars,beauty shops, Advertising  most important when organising any event, contact your local newspaper and ask them to advertise it for you most of them have a Community Section for this type of local events.

The cost of a stall is £10 and tickets for entrance is £2 , most of the therapy treatments are being given at a cheaper rate than they would be in a salon.
We have had some great prizes donated by the Stall Holders so all in all we are hoping that it will be a very successful night ,
The Night is for adults only and we will be serving Tea and Coffee
Our aim now is to advertise and sell our tickets. 

Where I live Scavenger Hunt

A local Scavenger hunt is a great way of getting families out and about together gathering information.

Firstly you need to get a great prize so that people will be willing to take part in the event. A good prize is a family of four ticket to the cinema or a theme park or sports event. Ask locally if anyone is willing to donate a prize.
Advertise where the sheets can be purchased,ask local shops to sell them for you.
Organise some really good questions (about 30) on your area,these can include history or present day questions.
Give a mixture of questions that can be found on either the internet,in library's or by walking on foot to find the answer.
Make it fun and interesting,putting photo questions on is fun.
Have some local shops place a item in there window that people have to look for.


Print out your question sheets and sell for a fee of £2 a sheet (remember to mark each sheet with a number or stamper so no photo copying of sheets can be done). Give everyone a time scale on when they have to be returned by . After the closing date and time mark all the entries up and if there is no clear winner then put all the correct answers into a hat and pull out a winner.

Remind people that the event is a family event and safety is in numbers so not to go out looking alone.

A fun event for all the family,where it can be played during the School holidays and all the family can be involved looking out for answers to your questions.

Have a Come Dine With Me Event.

Book a hall that has catering facilities,and invite your guests.

Ask local supermarkets ,butchers,greengrocers for donations of food and beverages

Have tickets printed and sell tickets at £3 so you can have a idea of how many will be attending and the money will cover the disco.

Organise a menu giving one or two meal chooses, keep the menu simple so it does not  become too expensive

Gather your cooks together and cook a meal and have wine and non alcoholic drinks available or allow them to bring there own beverage.

Ask some people to wait on and serve the meals

After the meal give your guests score cards and each guest writes down (in secret) what they think the meal is worth ......to make sure no one pays too little you could start the amount at a set amount  ( £6 ) and above Gather each tables meal score cards in and calculate all the amounts and then divide it between the number of guests on that table. This is the amount each member of that table has to pay for there meal.

Have a couple of free bottle of wine for the table that scores the highest amount of money to pay for there meals.

Have a small raffle to generate some more money

A disco to follow or some kind of entertainment and you have a good night with a fair amount of money raised for your good cause.

BALLOON RACE

A balloon Race can be organised as a event to run along side a gala,sports day,dinner party or just as a event on it's own. The idea of the game is for people to buy a balloon with a ticket attached, and the name and address of the Balloon Race Organiser. Once all the Balloons have been sold they are all released at the same time and the one that travels the furthest and has the winning ticket returned is the winner.  A time limit is usually given on when the balloon ticket has to be returned by.

All ages love this idea and  there are kits widely available on the internet with everything you need to hold the ballon race at your event.
Prize can be either a percentage of the funds taken from the balloon race fees or as a local company to donate a prize and gain some free advertising.

RECYCLING !!!

Organise a Recycle Day........ Contact Recycling for Fundraisng Organisations before hand and gather all the information that you need to make your Recycling day a success. Most Organisations will provide you with recycling bins,bags and leaflets to hand out to provide information .

There are lots of items that can be Recycled for Funds:

Ink Cartridges

Clothing

Mobile Phones

Soft Toys

Handbags

Shoes

Jewellery.....odd earings.broken chains 

Foreign Currency

Inform people well in advance that you are having a recycle day to give them the chance to have a good look through there cupboards and drawers!!

Arrange a day for all the items to be brought in and have a group of people to help bag and label the recycling items.

Arrange collections and receive your funds.

BATTLE OF THE JAR

This works well in schools as each class can be given a empty Jar or Tin..all have to be exactly the same size. Give each class a term to see who can fill the Jar/Tin with the most Pennies, set what coins can go in 1p.and 2ps usually work well and Large Coffee Jars/Tins are usually great for this.  At the end of the term count each classes Jar/Tins to see who is the winner.

It is not going to make you lots of money but it is a fun way to raise money .

Pennies make pounds and pounds make profit !!!

RAFFLE

Every event no matter how big or how small can hold a Rafflle.  A Raffle can be on any size scale and can be themed to suit age groups,and fit into the time of the year Christmas,Easter ect.  I have often found that local shops and venues are more than willing to donate a small prize and your local large supermarkets usually have a small budget to help out local fundraising groups.

Not all Raffle Prizes have to be expensive and luxury items.  Some of the best prizes are prizes that people can use  A great Raffle prize is always a Food Hamper and by people donating a small item they can be combined together to make a great prize.

Another prize is to go around your local allotments and ask the local people to donate some of there fresh veg and eggs to make up some small hampers,great if your tickets are sold and drawn on the day.

Cloak room tickets can be used for small raffles and if the raffle tickets are sold and drawn on the day of the event then you do not need a licence. Holding a  larger Raffle with more expensive prizes then it may be worth having tickets printed off and some of the prizes stated on the tickets. If you are selling Raffle tickets before the event then you will need to apply to your Local Council for a 'small society lottery license' . A small charge is made for the License but can last you a year and may be worth it if you are doing a few Raffles during the year.

There are some rules when selling Raffle Tickets at a event and I would advice you to check these out with your Local Council,most information can be found on there websites


Remember to always post the winning numbers for your Raffle in the venue where it was held or the local paper and to write Thank You letters to the people who have donated a prize to your Raffle.

Fundraising Football Scratch Cards

These Cards can are a easy way to add to your funds at a event,the cards can be bought online and can have from 20 to 80 football teams on them.
Customers write there name on a team and pay the amount of money that you have set either 50p to £1
When the card is full then scratch of the winning team panel and whoever's name corresponds with the wining team wins half the funds collected and the other half goes to you charity.

Fun and Bun Day.........Fundraiser

This event is a good way of making a little amount of money with no layout costs and we have used it many times at the Schools I have worked with. The Children enjoy attending School in non uniform and also have fun making buns for the event.

You can ask the Children to come to School in non uniform at a cost to them...50p to £1.
Ask them to come in a certain colour theme.....Brightly dressed,Fancy dressed or Pyjames.
Ask for donations of homemade or shop bought buns,cakes,biscuits and sell them back to the children at break time
